By Donna Andrews

In this article, Reflecting on socio-ecological transformation research: critical questions to consider, Donna Andrews argues that conceptions of earth democracy and earth justice need to be at the heart of such research. She considers what the “costs” of solution orientated research are and argues for the need for research that recognises positionality and ideological orientation. Finally, she reminds researchers that research for socio-ecological transformation cannot be a substitute for collective people-centred democratic resistance, organisation and demands from communities who carry the brunt of socio-ecological destruction.
